Against all odds
04:26
|
|||
This one’s for the un-achievers
The underdogs and un-believers
The girl who struggles and is misunderstood
They said you'd fail and you are no good
And the boys the ones who don't fit in
Not giving a chance but fight to win,
Those at the bottom,
who come back for more,
Those who fight back
and kick down the door,
Chorus: They think they know
But they got you wrong
Rise above against all odds
The kids with nothing and nothing to lose,
Do it yourself be nobody's fool,
Stand your ground I stand with you,
And I'll fight your corner if you want me too
Make your own rules do your own thing,
Get the last laugh and live to win,
Hold your head high stand out from the crowd,
Viva le punk, shout it out loud,
Punk rock is our religion
Said my brothers from across the sea,
Bring on the next generation
Anger is an energy
Anger is an energy

Urban Zoo
02:44
|
|||
On the bill at a show
Where the bow bells rings
Every chord that was struck
made in Dagenham
Where you from
sorry son this is hell west ten
Dick Van Dyke got it right
London accents again
Chorus: Guerilla tactics London gets the finger
The Real northern sole
From the South side of the river
Guerilla tactics guitars and balaclavas
We know we’re not invited
So we're gonna turn you over
Urban zoo we’re the guerrillas
Urban zoo we’re the guerrillas
Got your tape in the post filed in the bin
Where you from oh my god
Northern monkeys again
Song was hot what is not
is your dog on a string
We’d have you play but
there's too much tension
At the back of the pack where the angers mine
There's a sound very loud
down the river Tyne
You got your click
and the trick is to keep us out
Well no more smash the
door and you hear us shout

War child
03:12
|
|||
Gotta keep running through the war torn city,
Gotta survive he's on his own,
Past the bombed school and burnt out car,
Down to the ruin that he once called home,
Born with bombs flying overhead,
And drones that film from the cordite sky,
The western world is just a fantasy,
He saw it once on an old tv,
War-child in the war torn city,
Gotta survive the living hell,
He joined the masses and the exodus,
Looking for utopia that doesn't exist.
Chorus: Warchild on the run
Keep on running keep on running
Warchild got no home
Keep running keep running
Keep running
Through the bombed out streets tonight
Apocalyptic playground for the orphaned child,
Hungry and alone hes left to roam wild
His father got killed like his best friends dad,
His mother couldn't cope and slowly went mad
Warchild on the run
Keep on running keep on running
Warchild got no home
Keep running keep running
Keep on running keep on running
Keep running keep running
Keep running
Through the bombed out streets tonight

The chancer
03:12
|
|||
The characters came and they have all gone
In a public house where I feel I belong
The backrooms of the sloughed saloons
In the dangerous parts of this dirty old town
Home is where the heart is so they say
I’ll chance a pint and thats where I’ll stay
I've seen them come and I've seen them go
Lonely men cry and the pretty girls turn old
Chorus: I took the chance, it weren't for me
A pint of beer and a dram of whiskey
I took the chance, but it didn't workout
A barrel of rum and a keg of black stout.
Been a gambler been a rogue and a thug
And all the Charlottes I have came to love
And picking pennies from the sawdust floors
Night drowned streets I have nothing no more
I spend my time in the pubs around town,
Sitting at the bar I can usually be found
As another pint of ale slowly goes down
My troubles seem to fade and my life is turned round.
My time’s nearly up I lived my life well
I guess for my sins I'll end up in hell
Down at the bottom with them that's like me
Cos I'm just a chancer what will be will be

Leave him alone
03:39
|
|||
So he's your hero
And your never gonna let him go
He gives you the time of day
And you make sure everyone knows
What is it about him you adore
What is it about him
That keeps you knocking at his door
In a social way he can't ignore you
Chorus: He's a good man a damn good fella
But why do you wanna always give him bother
He's a good lad a damn good fella
You wanna be his mate you wanna be his clone
Sometimes I think you should leave him alone
Leave him alone
He came to your town
He put a smile on everyones face
You got your signed picture frame
Got your likes and your Facebook fame
He came to my town long ago
Did you read about it
I gave him a new tattoo
Then I took him for a Greggs pasty
with his crew

Work to live
03:50
|
|||
Six am I gotta get up
Don’t really wanna cos am feeling rough
On go the boots for another day
Working on the site just to earn my pay
Work is hard and the cold bites deep
Hands are cut and I can't feel my feet
Got to be thankful for what I got
A wage coming in but it ain't alot
Chorus: I don't live to work I work live
All that I know is somethings gonna give
I ain't living the dream
it’s just another ground hog day
Slave to the grave
I’ve got to pay my way
The boss man tells me jobs are on the line
If I take a cut you know it won't be mine
I still have pride and a family to feed
Do I make a stand or give in to the greed
The working man’s always had it tough
And the money he earns is never enough
Two worlds collide It don't seem fair
I paid my dues they've had their share
Six am I don't have to get up
I broke the shackles I had enough
Whatever it takes day by day
Dog eat dog ill do it my own way
Ain't living the dream
it’s just another ground dog day
Slave to the grave
I got to pay my way

In the city
02:50
|
|||
Somewhere out on that horizon
Out beyond the neon lights
I know there must be
somethin' better
But there's nowhere else
in sight
It's survival in the city
When you live from day to day
City streets don't have much pity
When you're down,
that's where you'll stay
Chorus: In the city, oh, oh.
In the city
I was born here in the city
With my back against the wall
Nothing grows,
and life ain't very pretty
No one's there to catch you
when you fall
Somewhere out on that horizon
Far away from the neon sky
I know there must be
somethin' better
And I can't stay another night
In the city, oh, oh.
In the city

Banks of the river
05:34
|
|||
I was, born and raised, at the top of the riverbank
Where nothing much remains,
and I've seen broken hearts
I've seen broken homes
and friends and families torn apart
The river will drag you down
if you let it, I got out alive
Chorus: I was born on the banks of the river
I gotta keep my head above the water
An industrial city
The streets don't have much pity
I got out alive
We were alright we were alright
We were alright we were alright
We were alright we were alright
We were alright we were alright
This town will drag you down,
Only if you let it, I got out alive
I spent, all my time ‘yeah’
Down by the river were the cranes were froze in time
But we had the time of our lives
We never let it grind us down we got out alive
I was born on the banks of the river
I was born on the banks of the river
I was born on the banks of the river
I was born on the banks of the river
We were alright we were alright
We were alright we were alright
We were alright we were alright
We were alright we were alright

A cry for help
03:30
|
|||
Six fifteen on a Sunday night,
There's a man with a gun
and he wants to die,
Didn't want to hurt anybody else.
Wants to stop the pain
thats in his head,
A cry for help He took a gun in his hand,
Extreme actions of a desperate man,
The black dog was with him
wherever he'd go,
Lost his wife his job
and they took his home .
Chorus: He took a gun in his hand
A sign of a desperate man
A cry for help, a cry for help
The only way out all he could see
A man on the edge of insanity.
Didn't wanna hurt the hostage he held,
Shoot me in the head
to the cops he yelled,
Eight fifteen on a Sunday night
There's a man on the ground
not making a sound,
Cops gonna take him to a prison cell,
There gonna take him straight back to hell.
He took a gun in his hand
A sign of a desperate man
A cry for help, a cry for help, a cry for help
You can't kick a man when he's down
When you don't know what's going on inside

Hypocrisy
03:06
|
|||
This is no conspiracy
Can you see hypocrisy
This is no conspiracy
This here is reality
This is no conspiracy
Can you see hypocrisy
This is no conspiracy
This is fucking reality
Chorus: They say it don’t exist,
Take a look and see
Lost souls down and out
pain and poverty
In every town and city
Just Another story
This is England
for some no hope or glory
They say it’s a lie there’s no class divide,
Tell the broken man on the verge of suicide,
Or the single girl trying to raise a family,
Through food banks and charities
Tommy was a solider a hero long forgotten,
He sleeps on the streets where now he has nothing,
Cold kills the old the rich still thrive
Broken Britain the great divide.
They say it don’t exist,
Take a look and see
Lost souls down and out
Pain and poverty
Every town and city
Just another story
This is England hypocrisy

Four Words
02:35
|
|||
Words you said in the heat of the moment have been building for some time,
Didn’t realize just how you felt I guess I was kind of blind,
Everyone has their ups n downs I know we’ve had our share,
But the words you said came out of the blue they took me unawares,
Hurt then pain, anger and rage,
My head’s in overdrive,
Thoughts that torment me through the day,
Torcher me at night
Chorus: Those four words you said to me
They really fucked me up, they got to me
I DON’T LOVE YOU
What went wrong was it my fault the answers I don’t have,
I can’t believe after all this time It’s ended just like that,
My world fell apart emotions in turmoil a struggle to get through the day,
Times a great healer so they say it didn’t feel that way
Those four words you said to me
They really fucked me up, they got to me
Those four words you said to me
Really fucked me up, they cut so deep
I DON’T LOVE YOU,
Acting civilized for the kids trying to stay calm n cool,
My Insides torn apart I stopped myself from losing control,
Jealous rages gripped my mind was there someone else,
The truth is that we grew apart only now do I realize that
Those words were true!

Hebburn town
03:26
|
|||
A working man’s opera a place to escape,
In the big game we’re gonna keep the faith,
And we’re gonna get behind that little club,
United we stand for the game that we love,
There’s a new buzz I can feel it around,
About a football team called Hebburn town,
Chorus: They play with passion on that football turf.
Ohh Hebburn is a place on earth
They have a dream do you know what that’s worth
Ohh Hebburn is a place on earth
Ohh Hebburn a place on earth
There’s a good feeling in town, on a match day
Gotta support the boys either home or away,
Gonna be there win lose or draw,
Gonna celebrate at the final score,
It’s all about the passion and pride
United we stand for the local side
H E B B U R N
On the banks of the Tyne there stands a team,
The black and yellow chasing a dream
There’s a new buzz I can feel it around,
About a football club they call Hebburn town
Hebburn a place on earth
Hebburn a place on earth
Hebburn a place on earth
Hebburn a place on earth

Costa Del Durham
02:48
|
|||
So your off again for a six or a twelve,
You know the routine you done it all before,
It's not your nature to be good,
Are you a little misunderstood?
If it's not nailed down you take it away
You’re off to Durham for a holiday
You’re back in the action back with the crew
And a heart to heart with the nightshift screw,
Chorus: Bang to rights caught in the head lights,
Now’t but trouble with a capital T,
All inclusive you know you love it
Costa del Durham for your holiday
A bucket of hooch a stash of green,
And a mobile phone your living the dream
All inclusive you know you love it"
Costa del Durham enjoy your stay
Day time telly passes time away.
Walk around the yard what’s the gossip today,
Talk of the good bad naughty and nice,
The highlight of the day getting spiked with spice,
Lights out head down another day counted,
Who's counting who cares, it’s what you wanted,
Living the dream don’t want it any other way,
It all free today enjoy your stay!
The road was hard you worked your way up,
Kept on thieving you wouldn’t give up,
It’s in your blood it’s your destiny
You got what you wanted HMP
The crime it did not fit the time,
You wanted more but you took it on the chin,
Mammy’s so proud and daddy is too,
Cos he’s in the cell next door to you!

Raise a toast
03:30
|
|||
As the working week looms ahead,
I'm wishing my life away
Looking forward to the weekend
It’s a time to rest and play
Go to a gig with like minded soles,
Have a laugh and too many drinks
Gotta let off a bit of steam,
I don't care what anyone thinks
Gonna make the most of life
As were not here that long
No better way to enjoy yourself
Than wine women n song
Chorus: Oh the good times
well long my they last
Let's raise a toast to the future
time it goes so fast
I've seen too many go this year,
I question my own mortality
Live life to the full I guess,
That seems the best way to me
Only one life it’s no rehearsal,
This here's the real deal
Enjoy yourself while you are able,
And celebrate along the way
We’re not here a long time
We’re here for a good time
Raise your glass to the future
Cos time it goes so fast
We’re not here a long time,
we’re here for a good time
COLIN RIOT said so, let's all raise a glass

Wor Geordie
03:00
|
|||
Wor Geordie, Geordie can’t fail
Wor Geordie, Geordie’s on bail
He’s a chancer,a little romancer
A ducker n diver a real live wire
He’s not part of no society
Does it his way gets his money for free,
Knows the schemes and he knows the street,
Don’t play by the rules and won't be beat
Wor Geordie, Geordie Wor Geordie
Wor Geordie, Geordie might fail
Wor Geordie, he might go to jail
He loves the ladies, and the ladies love him
The thrill of danger, a big turn on for them
His Jack the lad ways are gonna come to an end
The cops and courts are getting wise to him
No doubt carry on until he gets a stretch
The laws of averages he’s hanging by a thread
Wor Geordie, Geordie Geordie, Geordie
He got nicked cos his luck run out
Wor Geordie, Geordie did fail
Wor Geordie, he went to jail
Alot were sad, when the sentence got passed
His bed hopping ways, was a thing of the past
A five knuckle shuffle for a year at least
And one arm like Popeye Upon his release
He’s back out ,yeah back on the streets
Up to his old ways, he’ll never be beat
A young street rebel not a care in the world
Living for the moment and good luck to him
A young street rebel not a care in the world

The Coat
04:32
|
|||
I first saw the coat in an old junk store, in a display about the First World War,
Mud stained bloody battered and torn,
What tales could be told from the coat that was worn
I bought that thing and I took it home, I tried it on when I was alone,
I looked in the mirror I saw nineteen sixteen
The men that were there and what they had seen,
For that battered coat I paid fifty pound, in the pocket lining an old note I found,
From years gone by a long time dead a note from a soldier this is what was read,
If this note is found then I am no more,
My name is Tommy Bell I fought in the Great War,
I saw hell on earth and man become beast.
I heard the screaming from North South and East.
I smelled the death and I felt the pain, a war to end wars never again!!
I saw the fear in grown mens eyes in the poisoned fields young boys died
Doing a duty they didn’t understand,
Killing another over blood stained land
Questioned why kept them thoughts in my head,
Who will have victory over the dead?
Whoever finds this note tell my family, I love them all for eternity,
To my wife Maryanne you must be strong, for our first born my only son Tom,
A time gone by from world war one,
A soldiers words written from the Somme,
A war to end all wars that's what some do say,
A note from a soldier on his last fatal day
Lest we forget they won’t grow old we will remember the brave and bold
Those who stepped forward to defend our land
To fight a war some didn’t understand
I learnt alot from that dirty old coat, a soldiers farewell written on a note,
For King and country the ultimate sacrifice,
For future generations and our way of life!!
